Meet David and Peter, our dedicated volunteers who bring smiles and essentials to patients and staff at Flinders Medical Centre.
The Amenities Trolley, stocked with items from the Volunteer Gift Shop, visits various wards, offering toiletries, confectionery, earphones, newspapers, and magazines to those unable to leave their wards. It's more than just shopping—it's a chance for a friendly chat and a comforting presence.
About Our Volunteers
- Peter (right): A passionate volunteer with VollieCare for 11 years, he brings warmth and experience to every shift.
- David (left): Initially joining VollieCare as a Guide, David has found his place alongside Peter on the trolley, sharing his friendly nature with all he meets.
Our Goal:
We aim to extend our trolley service to five days a week, providing even more support and connection to our community.
Volunteer Shifts
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Time: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Duties Include
- Counting the float at the start of each shift
- Stocking the trolley with goods
- Marking off items sold
- Engaging in friendly chats with patients
- Counting tills and returning items to the gift shop after the shift
